Beloved Cow Face Community:
I am filled with gratitude for the opportunity to communicate with you from a grounded and heart-centered space, which hasn’t been consistently available to me lately.
2020 was a rocky path for nearly all of us to walk. The trail was peppered with potholes, sharp curves, beautiful green grass, curious creatures, dust, wildflowers, hills and valleys, long straight stretches, LOVE… and so many questions. The path has lead us all to different places.
My personal path lead me to a place of knowing. Knowing that the way I’ve been showing up in the world, in my work, and in the CFY community has been unsustainable. It has cost me my physical and mental health, and my ability to share my authentic truth with all of you. In the past year I have struggled with the resurgence of a previously dormant chronic illness, depression and anxiety, grief over the loss of two family members, and untangling myself from a toxic relationship. I share this for one reason: authenticity creates connection - connections to our humanness, and to each other.
Arriving at this knowing illuminated an important realization: it’s time for me to move on. I have decided to permanently close the physical doors of Cow Face Yoga. This decision would’ve been far more difficult to land on without the love and support of Meghan MacLean. I am thrilled to be passing the torch to Meghan, who will now be running her business, Crescent Moon Wellness & Yoga, out of the studio. Rest assured, you are in amazingly capable hands, and I couldn’t be more proud of Meghan or more excited for her next chapter with you.
I will miss all of you, so much. The community we have built together at Cow Face Yoga has been a bloodline to me, feeding me with purpose, and so much reverence. Seeing your commitment and curiosity in the past two years has inspired me to be better, share more, do more, learn more, and lead with love, always. Many of you have thanked me for helping you on your yogic paths. I’m humbled by your gratitude and also believe that you have been the true teachers in our community. For that, I thank each and every one of you.
Finally, while the past year has been one of considerable darkness, in these shadows so much light has come to fruition. I have discovered my path. I have a new vision for Cow Face Yoga 2.0, which includes a beautiful piece of land, with yoga and meditation retreats, gardens, farm-to-table meals, and space to heal. I’ve met an amazing partner who shares this vision with me. I’m more connected to my parents, family, and dear friends. I have more compassion, understanding, more humanness. And, ultimately, more to share. How long it will take for this vision to become a reality, I’m just not sure. What I am sure of, is that I’ll see you all again soon.
